Weekly Market Summary:

U.S. stocks inched to the edge of all-time highs on Friday as the S&P 500 closed at 6,870.40, with the Dow 47,954.99 and Nasdaq 23,578.13 also higher. A cooler-than-feared core PCE (2.8% y/y) and easing inflation expectations boosted odds of a Fed cut next week, supporting risk appetite. Gainers were led by retail standouts (Ulta Beauty, Victoria’s Secret) after upbeat results and guidance, while SoFi slipped on a stock sale. Deal chatter helped media: Warner Bros. Discovery jumped on the back of a proposed Netflix mega-deal, even as Netflix itself pared back. Overall, it was a calmer week after recent swings, with breadth modestly positive and the big three indexes all logging weekly gains.
